Thrifting this Week - Success! Plus a new pair of slippers!

Good morning yet again.  I made a few trips to the thrift store this past week, and I found a few great things.

We have had a big box store particle board desk since...we got married?  It's probably 8 years old now. It wasn't big enough for anything we put on it, it collected clutter, and it just wasn't working out.  I've been checking Goodwill for a while now for the right size desk, with the qualification that it had to be sturdy, and not particle board.  Look at this beast I found!
For only $15 and minimal husband chiding, I scored this hefty desk that weighs more than I do, and makes the office area feel like a principals office.  It's kind of awesome.  It's big and old, and made well. It even still has the key to the filing drawer. For $15!

Next on my list is the little tea trolley.  I bought this one a couple of weeks ago, but it has only just found it's home in my living room.  It's a great table when you need to do work at the couch or have a sick kid laying around, but right now, it makes a great end table.  It has aluminum legs and handle, which I think I'll cover with some washi tape, when my order gets here.  I'm so excited. I might replace the casters too at some point, since they're clear and looking a little worse for wear.

This was yesterday's find, maybe $10 worth:

It had this really cute flower ribbon.

These little flowers, for cutesy details...

Some little crochet doily flowers packages...

This cute bee ribbon...
And bunches of other ribbons and trims, 25 yards of tulle, 4 things of awesomely bright and textured yarn, and A's favorite, pipe cleaners.

I also scored this really well made pottery bowl for $2 - it says Mercy Farm '76 on the bottom.  Anyone know anything about it?  My cursory googling came up with a couple of retreat hippie farms in the 70s.
Then there was this really cute Holly Hobbie 1973 Christmas plate. I can't wait to serve cookies on it, it is just adorable.
See how cute and well painted those kids are?

That's all my good finds of late...how about you?  What have you found lately?

Oh, a couple more things:

First, I finished a pair of Tom's Inspired Slippers, Wanna see?

I used some leather-like material for the bottoms, and they grip really well.

Second, I decided on a whim last night that I would make and enter a project in Project Run and Play.  The link party opens Monday and is only open for a few days, so I need to get to work.  I have a couple of good ideas in mind and I'm hoping they come out like I envision them.  I started pattern drafting last night and it's going along pretty well. I picked out the fabric for 2 different outfits, and I'm really excited about them.

Wish me luck, and when the time comes, I'll be asking for your votes!

See you soon! (and ignore this last little blurb of letters!)
