No Spend November - Update

Hello everyone!

I know you're all just on the edge of your seat after my last "No Spend November" update.

Well, here's what happened -

Remember how I had something I'd been looking for on Craigslist forever?

I'll start out with the shocker - I bought it.

But - I was able to make it cost neutral.

I sold a recliner, a dresser, and something in my Etsy shop (yay!), and came out on top.  The furniture was going to Goodwill originally, so that was "free" money.  The Etsy sale was just the icing on the cake for me.

So what was worth all that work to me?

This vintage treadle sewing table -

Refitted with a "new" 1970s vintage machine, only one previous owner, with manual and all.

And the table was full of all sorts of vintage supplies and goodies.

AND it came with a huge supply of thread, on the rack. It's great quality thread, and really would cost me a lot to buy new.

So, all in all, it was worth every bit of work I had to do for it. And having an extra functional machine around really is saving me this week.

Moral of the story - If you want something, work for it.  Convenience does cost more, and is sometimes worth it, but again, if you have more time than you do spending money, then find the time.

I added some beautiful vintage goodies to my Etsy shop too - hop over and have a look. :) Christmas is coming way too quickly this year. I also have much more in the way of needlepoint thread than what I have posted in my shop. Please email me if you are interested.

Also -if there's anything you'd like to see in my shop, I'd love to keep my eyes open for you - I need a good excuse to go hunting through thrift shops.

Jess

PS - In spite of No Spend November, I still have to do Christmas shopping. Ugh. Anyone want my ideas and tips for cutting spending on the holidays?
