Today I've been celebrating by wearing my Spider Dress and my Spider Necklace, and enjoying the strange looks I get while I grocery shop. :) What can I say, I like being the weird one! We all celebrate this holiday differently.
And in celebration of the holiday, I want to share with you what I found floating around my backyard -
A really realistic looking ghost! (yes...)
I mentioned that my grandmother passed away recently, and I was a very lucky grandchild who inherited many of her crafting supplies, magazines, and books.
It's nice to have things of sentimental value, in addition to them being useful.
This pattern came from the December 1, 1994 issue of Workbasket (a Special Holiday Issue), one of a pile of Workbasket issues I was able to bring home, yay!
This is the large version of the ghost, made in thrifted white yarn, black embroidery thread mouth, and plastic craft safety eyes.
The pattern wasn't the easily to follow actually, and mine came out with interesting looking arms compared to the picture in the issue. But he's cute, right? So cute, I had to laugh when he got caught on the tree -
He really looks upset about getting stuck, doesn't he?
If you are looking for a similar pattern, here's a couple of free patterns I found on Ravelry for you:
The Halloween Goody Bag - ghost applique looks similar
The Curly Ghost - applique, but the photo is terrible!
Cheers to you all, and I really hope you have a fabulous Halloween, whether or not you celebrate it - Just enjoy the lovely fall weather.
