Blanket Progress

Hi!  Hope you're enjoying the last days/weeks of summer vacation!  It's been a wild ride around here this summer, somehow very busy in spite of my ability to plan nothing.  I find I"m looking forward to the routine of the school season, if not the time commitments involved.

I haven't done a lot of finishing of projects since the skirt - but getting back into the swing of things recreated that need to MAKE that I've avoided for the summer.

I've been working in the evenings on the baby blanket (for a friend, not for me!). I've almost got the body of it done, but then I need to pick the border design and decide on the embellishments.  I"m excited to do those parts, but it can be tedious work, making sure it looks JUST RIGHT to me, and matches the crib motif enough for me to be happy. You know, because it's about ME, right?  :)  I'm my biggest critic though.

Here's where it stands right now - a pile of ends to weave in for the first third of the blanket....I remembered to start weaving them in as I went later. Bah.  I might add a couple more rows and make it a little bigger.  Though seeing it on the rocking chair, it looks big enough.

I was spot on for the colors, except I left out the main color - green.  To be fair, I didn't see the crib set for days after I started.  So I was going to incorporate the green into the border motif and do the embellishments in it.  What do you think?  The green is in the basket with the blanket.

The crib set looks like this:

So I was thinking to add some coordinating leaves on the blanket using the green, and then add more green into the border.  What do you think?  What would you do?

Have a great one!
