My new happy serger.

Here she is!

 
My very new and as yet untested Viking Huskylock s21.

Notice how my poor sewing machine is relegated to the corner now.  Poor girl.  Here's hoping Ethel's new friend will behave better than the last two did. I christen the serger Lucy the Brave. Because I informed her of the demise of the previous 2 Lucy's, and it seems bad luck to name this one Lucy the Third.

I had the option to get the computerized model, but I couldn't stand the thought of having even more computers to fight in the house.  It does have a wheel with settings on it for various things, that adjusts the tensions all for you, which is what the computerized one did anyway.

And it seems silly, but I am most excited about the mesh scrap bag, since the plastic bin on the one I had before was way too small for my projects.

AND there's extra workspace you can detach on the left side, with a ruler on it.  Pretty sweet stuff.

 (sly creative people may notice 2 things:  my desk is way too clean. and that's a Made by Rae pattern tacked to the wall.  Trust me, in my summer break, the desk acquired all the laundry in the house. It took days of hard work to see it again)

Take note mannequins. Your vacation time is limited my friends. I caught one of them lounging about in this hat today...looks a little TOO relaxed, doesn't she?

You may wonder why I haven't used the serger yet. Well, combine babysitting, stomach bug, husband with tight deadlines, and hip dysfunction, and you get a woman who just wants to lay down and have quiet for a while. What a week last week was.

In the process of uploading these pics, I located the missing vacation pics from the beginning of July -YAY!  I'll try to share a few of those soon, even though it's been a while.  Everyone needs to see pictures of the beach.
