Where Jess realizes she has a yarn problem, and a sneak peek at an upcoming tutorial

Hi All!   I actually played too much and started the week exhausted and overwhelmed...I haven't done that in a while.  So Friday we went to the burlesque show, Saturday was the renaissance faire, and Sunday we just took a long drive and ended up in Wimberley.  The boys played down by the creek/river for a bit, and we took them by the sculpture garden.  It was a nice break from the city. We had a great time relaxing and had no agenda.
I believe this is Cedar Creek.
Part of the Sculpture Garden, everything made with metal and wood.
The Gators in the Sculpture Garden
Wow, what a tangent.  I really do talk like this too.  Sorry to be so distracted! So I'm getting to this meat of this post now, really. My sister called yesterday asking if I wanted to carpool to Ikea.  Um, yes. I didn't know you could answer that any other way, really.

Much unplanned money spent, I came back home with yarn storage and many other goodies.

This is where I thought all my yarn was stored before, a moderately sized basket:
So I put my new storage drawer thing together (Antonius storage drawer rack), and went off to find my yarn.  In that basket there was some...there was some next to that basket....there was some in my project box...in the living room...in bags of works in progress...in my purse (!)...
I looked at the finished set up:
And I was in shock. How does someone who just started crocheting in the previous fall collect so much yarn so fast!!!??  At least now I can see it, which does two things:  keeps me from buying more, because it's a constant guilt trip, and lets me see what all I have without digging through a bin.  So aside from the stomach turning guilt, I'm happy with it.  Now the mountain of yarn has a home, and the rack needs to find a home itself.

On the plus side I started working on the octopus amigurumi pattern again, and it's coming along.  Definitely have a few changes in mind, but I'll keep you posted. In any case, at least I'm using the yarn.  :)

And keep your eyes open for a new tutorial coming up, when I get the kinks worked out - I designed a Tom's style/ballet slipper house shoe pattern that I think is really cute...wanna sneak peek at how the pattern is going? What do you think?
